Putnam Park

The Track Dawgs 2005 Tour concluded at the SVTOA event at Putnam Park hosted by Mark Wilson.  Everyone had a great time and we are all looking forward to next year!

Road America

The Track Dawgs had an awesome time running at Road America with the Northwoods Shelby Club's Midwest Invitational.  This year marked the 30th anniversary for the event, and the first time they have ever opened the event up to car makes other than Fords.

Although the Corvette had clutch problems at the beginning of the day, they had cleared up enough to allow normal shifting in the afternoon sessions.

Unfortunately the motorhome developed problems with its air system so Jonathan and Alan elected to head for home instead of participating in the Putnam Park event.

Autobahn

Thanks to Cork Farkis for hosting an awesome time at Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Illinois.

Jonathan and Alan stayed up until 3AM working on the Corvette so they decided to head on up to Road America.

Gingerman

Today the Track Dawgs were fortunate enough to tour the Ford Mustang plant in Flat Rock, Michigan, courtesy of Beth, a Ford employee that Will met at the Woodward Dream Cruise.  The plant was very interesting to see and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.  Thanks Beth!!!

Jonathan and Alan stopped in to Detroit to try to get Alan's Corvette fixed, where thanks to Mark Wilson, Dean Martin, Scott Whitehead, and all of the rest of the guys at Rehagen Racing they were able to put the car on a lift and get the clutch line bled.  Thanks Guys!!!

The rest of the group continued on to Gingerman Raceway where they were able to enjoy a couple of track sessions before the sun set.

Tomorrow it is on to Autobahn in Illinois.

Watkins Glen (Day 2)

Another fine day at Watkins Glen with beautiful weather and lots of track time.

Unfortunately Will's Cobra developed a knocking sound coming from the engine so he was unable to participate today.  Instead he went home to prep his other Cobra and will be meeting up with us on Wednesday to continue the tour.

Alan's Corvette developed clutch problems and it looks like it will miss the next two events but hopefully they will be able to repair it in time to participate at Road America on Friday.  Also, during the last session with Jonathan driving, the driver's side headlight popped open at about 135 MPH at the end of the pit straightaway!  Jonathan was amused.

Andrew's Cobra rubbed through one of his rear brakes lines yesterday morning but luckily the local Ford dealer was able to order a stock line for him and he had his car back on the track by the end of the day.

Dell's Cobra is suspiciously puking coolant but that doesn't seem to be slowing him down.

Mitchell's brand new Focus is performing admirably considering it only had 200 miles on it when it arrived at the track.

Jeff is wishing he was here.

Watkins Glen

The 2005 Track Dawgs tour got underway today at Watkins Glen International Raceway.  The weather was very nice and even though it hinted of rain, it stayed dry all day.  The Track Dawgs in attendance were:

Dell Hughes
Will Frentzen
Mitchell Pinnix
Andrew Beaumont
Jonathan Blevins
Alan Chavis
Jeff Lacina (in spirit)

We are looking forward to another great day tomorrow!
